Predicted cut off scores for 2018

Predicted cut off scores for 2018

Postby tiffany » Fri Oct 13, 2017 2:35 pm

We have been taking a look at this years' data (there is a spreadsheet on the KCC website if you are interested!), and comparing it with previous years. These are only rough calculations so please take them with a pinch of salt, particularly in the case of the out of area scores for Judd and TOGS where the sample size is tiny.

We have made the assumption that the schools will be applied for in similar proportions to previous years, but of course this does vary.

If we get more data we may be able to improve on these predictions.

Initial cut-offs:

The Judd School in area 367
The Judd School out of area 398
The Skinners' School 373
TOGS in area 375
TOGS out of area 393
Dartford Grammar OOA 387
DGGS OOA 367

Again, this looks like a slight increase on last year, and Skinners and Dartford will both be affected by how many out of county children choose them ahead of schools in other areas.

Please, always put the schools in your true order of preference.

Thank you,

Tiffany

and I assume the Judd score is 'assuming' they take an extra 25 children as they did the year before?

I did a calc and got 370/1 for TOGS ...

264 students last year got 372 and above (TOGS cutoff). This year you need to go down to 371/370 to reach 264 students. (Sevenoaks, Tonbridge & Malling, Tunbridge Wells areas). This assumes the same ratio of TOGS applicants vs others (as well as take up) and the same ratio of in area students gaining governor places. (Governor places going to the top 35 regardless of area). I am not sure about the 10 Pupil Premium places if this is new or consistent with last year....

That does look right for those areas, but doesn't take into account the children from independent schools, or any children in the OOC numbers who are actually in area for TOGS (which can happen if you live in Kent but are at a primary school over the boarder for example).

We are only making a best guess, and so please always put the schools in your true order of preference, even if you think your score may be slightly too low.

Thank you!

Hello,
do you have any prediction of in county cut off for Dartford Grammar at all? I know it was 351 last year. In the second round did that number go down at all or was that the cut off including 2nd round?
